I'm so (so so) excited for your new book! And upset for you about the Facebook debacle. I can see your author page (whew), but I hope your account is fully restored very soon. What a headache and a gut-ache and all the aches. But such exciting news about the book! Your commitment to your work is inspiring, always. How lucky we are to ready your words.
I am THRILLED to hear you’ve written the next novel! And I understand the quiet, frantic work that must have gone into it, but I’m so happy you’re sharing the news now. You and your writing deserve all of the good things coming to you.
I kind of love this post more than all the other possible posts you could have written today (except, maybe, the one where you announce you got a huge book deal with the editor of your dreams at one of the Big Five...)
I'm so proud of you, always. Fuck Facebook, also always. Keep going.
Adding to the F You, FB that during a fever-induced Influenza A state in Feb. a voice in my head told me to delete Instagram (my beloved). I did, thinking it would be for a week. I haven't even really missed it. I'll go back, and it's amazing how much less I have FOMO/anxiety around the constant need to refresh.
I just love you. I'm glad you're here and there and everywhere. I am so grateful that you keep chugging along being Maggie, glorious Maggie. I cannot wait to read your book. xoxo
May I recommend a Substack account called Social Media Escape Club? It’s packed with inspiration to leave (or decentralize) social and build deeper connections with the people who care about your work.
My goodness, I didn’t know these comments were here until now! I need to adjust my settings, apparently. This is so much better than Facebook. Thank you everybody!

Super excited for your next book! Not super excited that you, too, are in the throes of perimenopause (It is the literal worst).
Also, my day is not quite right until I’ve played all of my NYT games.

Thanks for sharing, Maggie. And if you ever need a "text a friend" in the middle of the night, I'm with you, wide awake, in perimenopause solidarity.
